my home - makeovers

I've spent sometime away from my work and blogging recently as I'm reorganising my whole home, here's what I've done so far...

...recovered my old Ikea swivel chair in 1970s Jonelle fabric,  I think the colours tie in perfectly with my original vintage 70s rug from Germany...

...put up this wall mounted coat rack, made a shoe cupboard from an old IKEA Billy bookcase and put up some white shelves (very proud of myself for using a drill and everything!).  I even put up these vintage hooks for my children's coats.  Its made in Holland by SIO and came from a flea market in Delft...

...and finally this is our new dining table from Habitat.

I'm on the look out for some new dining chairs. I'm really tempted by these DSW Eiffel chairs from eBay (originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames).  But I really love the much less affordable Hestor chairs from Habitat... if I could justify £120 per chair,  I would have one in each colour!  They're very Dutch in style, so when we visit Holland I'm going to trawl all the local Kringloopwinkels (Dutch secondhand stores) for some similar ones.

I'm also swapping round and making over all the bedrooms which I'll blog about once they're done.

a new cross stitch pattern for girls!

I designed and created another cross stitch pattern which can be purchased from my Etsy shop.  Its intended for a girls room, but of course the motifs could be used for anything.  I think they'd be ideal on little pinafore dress pockets!  I'll also be designing one for boys.
