i won!

I actually won a giveaway competition for the first time! It's this cute paper craft giraffe from the blog of the brilliantly talented Ellen Giggenbach.

For those few who haven't come across Ellen's work should definitely take a look.  Like me, she's obviously a huge fan of colour and creates perfectly crafted papercuts and 3D models plastered with her gorgeous folksy floral designs.  You can also see her website here and Etsy shop here.  Thank you Ellen!

fabrics for sale!

I've been sorting through my stash of Spoonflower fabrics and decided to sell some patchwork and remnant packs.  Its been really nice to photograph them in the sunshine as it makes the colours sing! I now feel really inspired to make another patchwork quilt...

I'll be adding some more remnants tomorrow including larger sized pieces on my Etsy Shop.
(If you choose to sell your creations, please credit me as a designer. Thank you x)

This is another design I'm adding to my new project (the second layout may give more of a clue of what it might be!)

book featuring alice apple

I received my copy of All Sewn Up by Chloe Owens recently as it features lots of my fabrics.  Its a really beautiful and thoughtfully put together book with loads of lovely ideas and pretty pages, many of which are bordered with fabrics I've designed (I love the sweet vintage fabric giraffe too!). You can purchase the book here from Amazon (a real bargain for a hardback!) and visit Chloe's website here.

I'm using these for a new product...can anyone guess what they're going to be?

Monday, 19 March 2012

These are my new Easter patterns (although I've left it too late to get the fabrics in time for Easter, whoops!).  The breakfast setting is intended for placemats, but of course aren't just for Easter (or breakfast for that matter) They'll be available from my Etsy shop soon and the repeats will be available on fabric from Spoonflower.
This sweet finger painting was made by my son yesterday, I love all the little characters doing they're own thing!

These are my entries for the design a sock competition over at Sock It To Me.  I found it via the Print & Pattern blog this morning and thought I might as well have a go!  I'm not expecting to get very far in the contest, but I've had lots of fun playing around with my patterns.  Good luck to those of you who also entered!

vintage fabric sausage dogs, like old friends have returned to my etsy shop!

Monday, 12 March 2012

Today I finalised the shop items with barcodes on the back.  I also designed a handy shopping bag which can be used as a basket and to store all the bits in!  The set will be available from my Etsy shop in about 4 weeks time.

mini mart

This is a project I'm in the middle of which will become stuffed fabric items to play shop with, I may have to do some research at the local supermarket as I'm a bit stuck for ideas!

wholesale news

I've added some more dolls and Dutch house cushions to my Etsy Shop.

I'd also like to apologise to my retail customers that regretfully I won't be taking on wholesale orders, this is due to my very busy family life (twins running a mock!) giving me less time to make large orders.  I do feel a bit sad about this and I can't thank everyone enough for your orders over the past 4 years, its been so flattering and encouraging! Hopefully I'll be taking on wholesale again once I have more time.

I'll still be continuing with my Etsy shop and surface design (fabrics and commissions), plus hopefully making all the things I haven't had time for in the past!
